Shelby's birthday party

Once Christmas comes down we are in full birthday party mode. For the past several years we've done birthday parties in locations other than my house. I swore I would never do another child's birthday party at our home. There are always tons of people and it takes DAYS to clean up afterwards. This year Shelby has been insisting, for months, that she wants her party at home. She wants a Hannah Montana "concert". So, the party will be at our house. Holy cow. I have to admit that this is fun planning this party. I found a lady on ebay who created this invitation. She did an awesome job and what's most important is Shelby loves it! We've come up with games and prizes for the party. Lonnie's going to build us a stage and we will have karaoke all set up with all Hannah Montana songs. I think I may be as excited as Shelby for her party. I can't believe she's turning FIVE!!!

rock star

Shelby got two different Hannah Montana guitars for Christmas. One from Nanny and one from Mimi. Shelby loves them BOTH! She's all about being the next Hannah Montana. Check her out rocking it out on one of her new guitars, microphone headset and all.

santa came!

Santa hit the Blevins' household with way too many gifts this year. ;-) On Christmas Eve we baked Christmas cookies to leave for Santa with some milk. Lonnie tried to tell Shelby that Santa preferred beer but she didn't fall for that. Then we went outside and spread reindeer food (oatmeal) all throughout the yard. Shelby and I went to the Christmas Eve service at church and Lonnie stayed home with Tucker. There was no way he would sit quitely in church at night. I was amazed at how quickly the kids went to sleep once it was time to go to bed. It was their LAST night in our room!!!!

This year Santa brought Shelby the Mrs. Goodbee dollhouse with tons of furniture for it, loads of polly pockets and some My Little Ponyville sets. He brought Tucker cars, cars and more cars and a new bedroom with a CAR BED!!! He loved it and I'm happy to say Tucker is back to sleeping in his room. Hallelujia!!!!!!
Tucker napped in his bed!
Shelby and Tucker watched a movie in his new bed.

He LOVES his bed.
This cruise ship took an HOUR to put together. Grrrrr....

christmas in corpus

We traveled down to Corpus Christi a few days before Christmas to spend time with Lonnie's family. Nanny Joy, Poppy Charlie, Aunt Bobbie, Uncle Randy and Cousin Kenzi. I think after this drive I've decided that we need to get those individual kid tough dvd players. This is something we need to get before we go to Disney in May.

playhouse disney live

Last Sunday we took the kids to the Toyota Center to see Playhouse Disney Live. They had a really good time. It was definitely a good way to gear up for our Disney World trip in May after Shelby's preK graduation.

reindeer hat

The kids bring so much home daily from school but this one takes the cake. This was Tucker's reindeer antlers. They are so cute!

party favors

I know it seems a bit early to be planning Shelby's birthday party next month, but who are we kidding??? Y'all know I start planning months in advance! LOL Someone tipped me off that Libby Lu was going out of business. I checked their store online and scored! I ordered these sunglasses (which you know Hannah Montana wears!) and these headphone microphones, both of which are decorated with "diamonds". I also got (not shown) some silver necklaces with pink hearts on it. All of these came in sets of 24 each. I couldn't split it up. These normally go for about $5 per item. I paid $30 TOTAL after shipping and tax and also a bottle of spray glitter. So these will be party favors from the Hannah Montana "concert" going on at the Blevins' house in January! ;-) Now I'm going to need to come up with something for the boys. Hmmm......

christmas lights

Just so y'all know, we do have lights out this year. I didn't even have to twist Lonnie's arm. :-)

you have to be kidding me

How on earth can a man who is obsessed with his clothing allow his daughter out of the house looking like this? He just sent me this photo from his phone. He's out with the kids at the downtown aquarium (while I'm at work missing out). He blamed her and said she dressed herself. Oh dear. Not good. What's the point of me laying out clothes (with choices) for the day if it's just going to be ignored. Yellow shirt with brown monkey does not go with pink and teal striped pants honey. Oh, and that's a red headband in her messy uncombed hair.

cuddle time

Lonnie took this photo of the kids last night when he got home from work. They were all cuddled up next to each other asleep. How sweet is that?

christmas gift to myself

My new front loading washer and dryer finally came yesterday. YAHOOOOO!!!! My awesome parents went and picked it up for us and connected everything while Lonnie and I were still at work. I'm sure they were tired of me bringing all my laundry to their house since my washer pooped out on us a month ago. Sears said it would be available in 5 days. 5 days turned into 3 weeks! So here they are. I hope they last us 10 years like the other washer and dryer did. They aren't the fanciest, but man, they sure do wash and dry FAST!!!

xmas goodies

It's that time of year again where I make a gazillion candied pretzels for my coworkers. I love doing it for about the first hour, and then after that I am ready to be done! This year I found these nifty candy holders at Hobby Lobby.

I also make Shelby and Tucker's classmates little gift sets. This year I got these super cute take out xmas boxes at Hobby Lobby (where else, LOL) and I filled them with snowglobes, xmas stickers, a few peices of candy, and a mini elmo xmas book.

tea party

Shelby's friend Emilie came over today. We had McDonalds for lunch and they turned it into a tea party. (By the way, notice Tucker's new hair cut? It's quite short.)

snow in texas

Wednesday night it snowed. I went out and took some photos in case it was all melted by morning, which most of it was. I tried to get the kiddos up but they wouldn't budge. The last time it snowed here was 12-25-04.
