Summer Fun

Can I just say again how much I love Shelby's classmates at her new school! They are such a sweet group!

Selena Gomez concert

Last week I took Shelby to see Selena Gomez at the Toyota Center. I believe this was concert 6 for the year 2016. She received a lot of different concert tickets for Christmas and her birthday and we are only 1/2 way through all these concerts. Apparently we go to A LOT of concerts because I got an email from ticketmaster saying something about a lawsuit for overpriced fees and a "few vouchers" were added to my account. I looked yesterday and saw a few was equivalent to 20 general admission tickets to small venue concerts. This will be helpful at Christmas time!!

Anyway, Selena Gomez was great. She put on a fabulous LONG performance. Not sure I can handle another weekday performance on a night before I have to be in court for work. It took me 2 days to recover from the lack of sleep and loss of hearing! LOL

SFA Volleyball Camp

This summer is the summer Shelby wants to up her VB skills. She's decided this is what she wants to do at the college level. Next month she will try out for club volleyball, which makes me unbelievably nervous. She is signed up for multiple volleyball camps this summer. The first week Shelby was out of school she went to volleyball camp at SFA. This was just a 3 day camp, but it was intense, and she loved every single minute of it.

Once she returned from SFA camp, she was off the Dickinson HS's volleyball camp. Not near as intense, but she still had a great time. This week she was supposed to be at a VB camp at YMCA, but that got rescheduled. Next week she will be at Rice University for a week long VB camp. Once she returns, she will then have a week off at her dad's, then she will be back for her VB club tryout at GCVA. After that it's her school VB camp.

panic at the disco and weezer

Last night I took Shelby and a few of her friends to see Panic at the Disco and Weezer at they Cynthia woods Mitchell pavilion. We don't normally do lawn seats for concerts but it was a 4 ticket package for cheap so we got there in plenty of time to get a decent spot and rented their lawn chairs. Most definitely a different crowd than most the concerts I've taken her to. My people watching skills were in overdrive last night. Lol

Top Golf

Spent this morning with Mimi and Poppy and the rest of the family at Top Golf this morning. It was extremely hot and humid but A LOT of fun. Shelby did not inherit the golfing gene from Uncle Lee or her dad, but Tucker was awesome!!

I know these pics aren't the best but I have to say how proud I am of Shelby and how far she has come in volleyball. She has decided this is what she wants to excel in. She practices every single day to improve herself. She leaves today for volleyball camp at SFA and then has 3 more camps booked (Rice University, YMCA, and school).

Tucker's 3rd Grade Field Trip to Minute Maid Park - 2016

I missed Tucker's field trip this year to Minute Maid Park but was thankful that his dad and Poppy Charlie were able to go with him! I'm not really sure what makes going to an empty ball park super fun at this age, but Tucker said it was great and was super happy his dad and gpa were there with him.

Tucker's Egg Experiment

Tucker had his last school project due today and it was an egg experiment. He had to find a way from keeping the egg from cracking after being dropped from 6'. This gum bucket is full of cottonballs. His egg did NOT break!!! Yay!

Tucker's 3rd Grade Field Day

This silly goose had his field day and end of school awards at school on Tuesday. He received an award for straight A's for the entire school year. Super proud mom here!

Camp Casa Mare - 2016

Our GS troop has twindled and after Cadette Weekend - Survive the Night in April, we had 3 girls not recovered enough for another "camping" weekend. So with our 4 left over girls, we took them to Casa Mare in Seabrook for the weekend to finish up our Journey work and work on a few badges. It was by far the easiest GS weekend for us. It was very lazy and relaxing. Although Shelby desperately wants to quit scouts, I'm being that mean mom and making her stay in. We don't do near as much as we use to and why quit now when you only have a few years left and the opportunities for college scholarships will be fantastic!
