Shelby's 7th Birthday Party

Shelby's first slumber party with 11 little girls for her 7th birthday was a success. It was an absolute blast and we will most definitely have to do it again. The last to go to sleep was at 4:30am and the first to wake was at 6am. We had Kate and Meghan over to do makeovers on the girls which they absolutely loved. We had just dance and sing it wii challenges. We had tons of crafts and silly string wars. It was just a lot of fun!

Cake disaster

Shelby wanted a cookie cake for her party so I went to the Great American Cookie Company at the mall and saw this cake with the green trim and thought it would be perfect. So I ordered it but with pink icing.

So then Saturday before the party we ran up to the mall to pick up the order and got this cake. Umm, does it look anything the same?

I think not. I was ticked but Shelby was fine. So I tried not to get my panties is a wad over it. I mean why have a sample cake on display if you can't replicate it? Oh well, as long as Shelby was happy, then I was going to try and be happy.

Slumber Party

It's 10:45pm and they are all still crazy awake!

I'm trying to play around with my new camera and I found these really cool features that add major color to the photos. The photo with the dull color is the traditional setting. And then I have the option of doing a black and white photo with a color spark. Pretty cool. Hopefully I don't have camera malfunction tonight with Shelby's slumber party.

Shelby kept asking Lonnie tonight why nobody was talking about her birthday that is tomorrow. Little does she know when she comes downstairs in the morning she will see this! Lots of gifts including a white board for her room and birthday cake for breakfast! I cannot believe my baby girl is turning 7!!!

Birthday Party Stuff

Although I planned to be way more productive over the weekend and clean out and reorganize our kitchen cabinets and pantry, the kids rooms, and do laundry, I instead watched marathons of the Real Housewives of Atlanta and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (how in the world have I not see these before???) and put stuff together for Shelby's upcoming slumber party.

The party supplies I ordered came in this weekend and I think they are just too darn cute! I went to Hobby Lobby and found all sorts of matching baskets for all the makeup and nail polish (and for my kitchen reorganization which was interrupted by trash tv). Shelby wants to do some crafts so I think we are going bedazzle some headbands (I don't know what the hip trendy new word is for bedazzling, LOL) and decorate pillow cases with fabric markers.

Shelby and Tucker spent the night with Mimi and Poppy last night. When I picked them up today they were roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. They had a blast! They've missed their Mimi and Poppy.
