Last week at the end of a girl scout meetings I caught a video of Shelby and a few other scouts singing and dancing to one of their songs.

I forgot to add that this kid was the opening act for Miranda Cosgrove. I had never heard of him until he played his last song which is what got him on this tour. He was a youtube sensation not too long ago. It was all over the internet of a video someone posted of him singing and playing at a talent show. iCarly concert

Last night I took Shelby and her friend Emilie to the iCarly concert at the House of Blues. I was soooooooooo glad I bought actual seats and not standing room only tickets. Our seats were great and by far the easiest concert we've been to yet. I think it's b/c it was in downtown and since I drive there daily, I actually knew where I was going and what I was doing. LOL

Update on Tucker

Just got back from the doctor. Tucker has the flu. :-(

iCarly concert

Tonight I'm taking Shelby and her friend Emilie to the iCarly / Miranda Cosgrove concert at the house of blues. Hopefully the girls aren't too exhausted for school in the morning!

AR Books

Back in September I posted about Shelby earning AR points. See, I thought that Shelby would get to take her points earned from last year on to the next year, but it turns out she didn't. So I reallllllly didn't think Shelby would make it too 100 points by the end of the school year. But still, I told her when she earns 100 AR points we would give her $100. It was an incentive to get her to read which she really isn't a fan of. Or at least, she wasn't at the beginning of the year. So this morning she takes 2 AR tests, both being 4 point level books (Ramona books). Don't you know it, that girl now has 80.8 points!!!!! I'm actually going to have to give this girl $100 and it'll probably be before spring break!!!

Sunday School Lesson

This week is my week to teach Sunday School. (Sheterra - are you paying attention?) This Sunday's lesson we will be following a love lesson and letting the kids create their own Valentine cards for the friends and family. Should be fun!!!

Kids in my bed!

I'm ready for Lonnie to get home tonight! He's been out of town all week at a conference. These 2 talk and laugh in their sleep, move around like crazy and are pillow hogs. Not to mention, Tucker must be touching me at ALL times. He's a major cuddler. I know I'll miss that in a few years. I try and remind myself of this when he's breathing down my neck with his fonky morning breath. I took this pic and texted it to Lonnie at 2:20 this morning after I woke up from getting smacked in the face by Tucker.

Girl Scout Cookies

Got the word that GS cookies are coming in this weekend. Hopefully we can start getting all 250 of them delivered after church on Sunday!! I think we will be taking 2nd orders too so if you missed the last go-around or are in need of more, just let me know!

Cheap Valentines

This Valentine's Day we are going the cheap route at school. Tucker has 24 kids in his class, which can get expensive. So for his class, I bought 24 boxes of sweethearts (8 boxes for $2), used a coupon and ordered these labels from Tiny Prints ($3), bought valentine cards ($2), and had heart foam stickers from last year ($0). So $11 got us 24 valentine treats!

Shelby's class is not having a party. They are having ice cream and passing out valentines, and that's it. Tucker's class is having a party with pizza and cupcakes and crafts.

Forgiving and Forgiven

I had to bust out laughing at Julie at work today. In the midst of a discussion she picked up some stuff of mine off the printer (not knowing it was mine) and waived it in the air and said "this is not something we do to defense lawyers!"

Awards Ceremony

Last Thursday Shelby had an awards ceremony at school. She received awards for straight A's, highest AR reading points, and outstanding work in social studies. She flew up there so fast I couldn't catch any pics, so here's a pic with her and her friend Caylee. Caylee is in GT and girl scouts with her.

Wacky Winter Weather

This crazy, windy, brutally cold weather snapped our pine tree in half in the front yard this morning while we were at work. I'm sure the fact that it was actually dead already and was going to be replaced this spring had nothing to do with it. ;-) My awesome parents came to the rescue and by the time I got home, the tree was totally taken care of. I think I'm loving that dad is retired now! Thank you mom and dad! We owe y'all dinner!!!!

I finally found some use for the single sock bandits laying in the laundry basket. Who needs foam and duct tape to wrap the spickets? 4 folded layers of socks I think will do the trick!
