Easter Eggs
Sunday afternoon we attempted to dye easter eggs. Note to self - read the instructions first. I added water to the dye tablet and the eggs didn't dye. Turns out I was suppose to add vinegar. So I started over and used my Wilton colors. This wasn't much better except that it colored our hands. 3 days later and I still have colored spots on my hands. .JPG)

Easter School Treats
I'm soooooooo last minute this year on school Easter party treats for Tucker's class. When I say last minute, I mean, I'm putting it together today at work for the party tomorrow! Believe it or not, walgreens always has the cutest little trinkets for holiday parties for little kids. I got wind up bunnies and frogs that do flips, mini m&m's, easter stickers and printed a "from Tucker" card to place in a large plastic egg.

Tball take 2
Can't say today is much better.
Update - There was a slight improvement this week over last week. Tucker did manage to do the stretches and run the bases and after a lot of begging, I managed to convince him to hit the ball with the bat. He refused to play catch. And when running the bases at the end, he picked up second base and ran off the field with it. It was our turn to bring snacks/drinks for the kids and Tucker flipped out that everyone was taking "his" spiderman fruit snacks. Awesome. Maybe next week he'll be willing to wear his glove and catch and throw a ball.
Madeleine Turns 2!
My sweet niece Madeleine had her 2nd birthday party this weekend at the Houston Zoo. I'm sure this will be the last year she lets Tucker "help" her open her gifts. :-) Madeleine LOVES Abby Caddaby now.

soccer game
Shelby had a soccer game yesterday. Although I am not a big fan of her coach this year (he's not bad, but he's dealing with his non-cooperative son most of the time) Shelby seems to be having the most fun this season. I think it's because she's become friends with this little girl in the picture below and another little girl.

Here's Tucker playing games on my iphone sitting in Poppy's lap.

Bluebonnets 2010
It's that time of year again! I think this was the first weekend this patch was in full bloom. The kids were covered head to toe in pollen by the time we left.

(Not quite sure why he looks grumpy in this photo.)

Plant status
Remember those vegetables Shelby planted a few weeks ago? Here's what they look like now. No vegetables yet but at least something is growing.

Thing 1
This past month has been Dr. Seuss month at Shelby's school in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Last night was literature night where we went to school and got to see the classroom doors decorated in a Dr. Seuss theme, do a scavenger hunt, play book games, and visit the scholastic book fair. (Which by the way, scholastic books are far cheaper in the paper ads they send home from school, then in person.) Today the kids were going to have a Dr. Seuss parade around the campus and kids who dressed up in a Dr. Seuss book character costume could be in the parade. They also allowed the kids to wear Dr. Seuss shirts instead of their normal polo shirts. Shelby didn't want to be in a costume all day so instead, I MADE her this Thing 1 shirt. I printed the Thing 1 logo off the internet onto fabric iron on paper, and then got the solid red t-shirt from Michael's and just ironed it on! It was so easy! Thanks to Sarah being the pro at iron on shirts, she gave me this idea. Then I got some blue hairy yarn from Michael's and super glued it on a headband for the frizzy hair. Thanks to Tanya for this idea! This part took a wee bit longer. I think I finally went to sleep at midnight. Shelby didn't see any of it until she got up this morning for school, and I was already gone for work. I was worried she wouldn't like it but she turned out to love it. And the best part....they put her IN the parade! Totally made her day!

New Moon Party
Saturday night was our New Moon party. I have to admit that I dropped the ball in picture taking this year. I did take some, but hardly any of them turned out well. But we had a great time! We all brought food somehow related to the movie. Christina said she would bring the cake. This is the cake from the movie, and below it is the version Christina made! What a great job!
I decided to make werewolf kibble. I did take pictures of this since I made it ahead of time and remembered to take photos. It was very easy! Here's the recipe in case anyone wants to try it. It was delicious!

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup of butter

Melt in microwave until it's smooth and creamy. Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

In a large bowl dump 1 box of chex rice cereal.
Then add your melted chocolate mixure and stir. (It's very messy!)

Then dump it into a large ziplock bag and dump in 1-2 cups of powdered sugar and shake to coat.
After it's evenly coated, spreak out on wax paper to dry. Once dry, put it in an air tight container in the fridge until ready to serve.

Since mine was called werewolf kibble I put it in a dog food bowl for Jacob. :-)
