saying good bye...again

Sarah's move date kept getting pushed back. Lucky for me, I got to see her several more times. Tonight was the last night. They officially leave tomorrow morning for Canada. I finally hugged her goodbye knowing it was the last time I'd see her until Christmas. (Getting the kids to stay still for a photo using the cell phone is quite difficult. LOL)

Fun times outside

The mosquitos have finally disappeared and it was pleasant to hang outside yesterday. So we blew up the waterslide, pulled out some popsicles and hung out with our neighbors.

Frog

Tucker caught a frog!

2 parties in 4 hours

We had a super late night last night. Turns out that Sarah's move date was pushed back a week so her and the kids came over for dinner, for the kids to play upstairs, while her and I watched True Blood downstairs. :-)

Anyway, it took a lot to get Shelby up this morning at 9am to make it to pearland for Teigan's princess par-tea at 10am.

Then to drive back to our side of town for a swim bday party at 12pm for Aron at the YMCA.

I feel like a chaueffer. I need a raise and a nap.

Sally

Sally came for a visit just as a reminder that she watches them ALL year long, not just the month before Christmas. :-) I don't see her today, so she might have flown back to the north pole.

Saying goodbye to Luke & Lauren

Sarah leaves this week for Canada so she brought Luke and Lauren over for some playtime with Shelby and Tucker. Shelby's friend Emilie was staying the night so we had a fun filled evening with kids making "sandwiches" on top of each other, tea parties, army men jumping, pictochat on the ds's and a delicious dinner at fudds. I'm reallllllllly going to miss them, but I know they'll be back in December to visit, so I'm looking forward to that.

Flowers

Awwwwwww! I got flowers today from one of my attorneys just because. How sweet! Of course I had no vase so I had to make do with a cup that I already had. :-)

Part 2 of the photos below.

Below is the 2nd half of the photos. This was from the first part of our trip. From TX, AR, TN, KY, IN, and AL.

Pirate Cruise

Tonight we went on the Sea Dragon pirate cruise. Holy cow it was so much fun. The kids had gun fights, sword fights, hunted for treasure, fired cannons and so much other stuff. Afterwards we dined on the beach at pineapple willies and watched fireworks. Such a fun day!

More fun today.

We are back at the mini water park for the second time today after doing some fun rides at pier park and having lunch at five guys. Tonight is our pirate ship cruise.

Dolphins

We just left shell island where we snorkeled and found sand dollars and other treasures. On our way back I was able to capture some video of the dolphins swimming around our boat!

At this moment....

At this moment I am lounging in a beach chair watching the kids play in the water park while the ocean waves crash behind me. Now THIS is a vacation!

We made it!

We made it to our resort about 9pm last night. This place is unbelievable! I can't wait to get out and explore in the daylight now. Our condo is so cute and exactly what we needed. We slept soooooo good last night. Here is the view from our room. This picture doesn't really do it justice though.

On the road again.

We're on the road again. Left Indiana, drove through Kentucky, Tennessee and now in Alabama. We've stopped for lunch for the kids to run around and stretch. We should make it to our resort in Florida by 8pm. Yay!

Louisville

Last night we spent the evening with Lonnie's family. Shelby had a blast bc there were 4 other little girls her age to play with. I was shocked by all the fireworks. It was as if every single household in the state shot off fireworks. We can't do that in our city. Even a sparkler would get you a ticket in TX. Mimi and Poppy, you will be happy to know that your wild grandson was terrified of the loud noise so he stayed away from the firecracker.
We are staying with Lonnie's aunt and uncle across the bridge from Louisville and IN Indiana. We sure have been through a lot of states on this trip! He has some BEAUTIFUL property. Unfortunately as I write this, we are sitting in the parking lot of an urgent care bc Lonnie has become realllllly sick with what seems like strep throat again. And Shelby's allergies have got her completely stopped up. So all the traveling through the different states may be taking a toll on these 2. Sent from my iPad

Bowling Green

We made it to Bowling Green, KY yesterday afternoon. We went to a place called beech bend amusement park which is equivalent to the Houston Rodeo carnival with roller coasters. We had to split the kids up bc Tucker wasn't tall enough for a lot of rides but we still had a lot of fun. I took Tucker to a splash pad in town also. I wish we had splash pad in our home town. It's such a huge hit.
This morning we went to Lost River Cave and took a boat tour, walked the trails and held butterflies. It was a really cool place. Now we are on the road heading to Louisville. Sent from my iPhone

Little Rock

We just spent the evening in Little Rock. We learned a valuable lesson. Do not attempt to sit down and eat a decent dinner after riding in a car for 10+ hours. Tucker is just NOT gonna have it. After we struggled through dinner we walked around downtown, road the trolley, and went to a splash pad at a park next to the hotel. We stayed at the Peabody Hotel but saw no ducks. It's a very nice hotel and fortunately they put us on an empty floor. They heard how wild Tucker was as soon as we walked through the door. From what we have seen of this city, it's very nice. We survived our first long car ride just fine. We only had a few issues over the movies but that's about it. We drove through nacogdoches and saw SFA and how much it has drastically changed in the past 12 years. Then we stopped in Blevins, AR and toured the town and flea market. Now we are on the road again, driving through Tennessee and then Kentucky.

Bank of Blevins

This must be why Shelby thinks we are made of money.

And so it begins.....

Dear Lord, please help us survive this road trip. How long will this DVD player entertain?
