EYC Ugly Sweater Party

Sunday we had our 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party at EYC. Shelby was determined to place again this year, and this year she actually got 1st place. Brody got 3rd place. His mom did an awesome job finding the weirdest Christmas shirt ever! Space Christmas cats on pizza slices.

EYC goes Caroling

Christina and I took the youth group to Seabreeze Nursing home to pass out handmade gifts from the kids and sing Christmas carols through the hallways. The kids look forward to the event every year. This year Shelby played her ukulele for all the songs. It was quite a cute touch.

Brody's Baptism - EYC Pool Party - Aug 2016

The day after the kids returned from their trip with their dad, we had a very busy packed day. It started off with Brody being baptized by the Bishop. That was such a great morning to see so many people stand behind us and agree to join in the responsibility of guiding Brody in his faith through their faith, love and commitment.
We took a detour home after a large reception after church to catch pokemon. This has become a huge competition between the 5 of us.
After a much needed nap we headed over to Mimi's and Poppy's house to kick off EYC with a back to school pool party. It was such a fun night!!!

EYC Putt Putt

This past Sunday we took the youth group kids to Putt Putt Fun House. We had 17 kids come and had a great time!! I'm really enjoying my time with the youth group. I loved it as a kid and I love it as a leader now. We have a lot of great things planned for the school year!

EYC Paint Wars

Last night at EYC we got a wee bit messy. First we had a lesson on anger. The kids broke up into teams and built towers with spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. Then they wrote things that made them angry on ping pong balls. They took those balls and went and destroyed the other teams' towers. We discussed how anger destroys and how it hurts others. Ephesians 4: 26-27:  “And don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil”.

After the lesson and some fine dining on KFC we headed out to the pavilion to play some a messy game of twister along with paint wars with filled water balloons and paint filled water guns. The kids had an absolute blast last night.

1st Annual EYC Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

Last night was our 1st annual EYC Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. I must admit it was a lot of fun. It was a ton of work, but totally worth it. I'm pretty sure the kids had a blast. We had gingerbread house building race, wrapping races, gift exchange, carol kisses, and tons of pizza and sweets. Shelby came in 2nd place in the ugly sweater contest. Next year I will have to bring my good camera b/c the phone camera really doesn't do these pictures justice.
