Winter Showcase

Yesterday was Winter Showcase for dance. It's where all the dancers get together and perform their competition routine. It's where they decide costumes changes, choreography changes, and who needs extra practices. I'm not a fan of the dance/music this year for her group, but I will say at least it's fun. And fun music is what Shelby loves and gets her groove on. It's a workout routine to Rocky, Richard Simmons, and LMAO music. Odd blend, but they make it work. We are going to need to work on hair though. Apparently I don't make a big enough bang poof according to another dance mom. Insert BIG eyeroll here. And her pony hair is a shade too dark. I'm not about to buy more hair though.

 

Best. Birthday. Ever!!

All I can say is THANK YOU!!! You girls are amazing and I am forever grateful to have such amazing friends and family. I cannot think of the last time I had that much fun or even celebrated my birthday with more then just dinner. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each of you. I love you!

"Feel better" fairy

I've been fighting getting a cold for 4 days and last night it smacked me hard in the face. When I woke up this morning I had a note from the "feel better" fairy. Hahahahahahaha sweet Shelby

Brazos Bend Park - MLK Day

I had the bright idea to take the kids to Brazos Bend Park on Monday since they were off from school for MLK day. Apparently so did everyone else. LOL It was an absolutely beautiful day for a picnic and nature hikes.

 

Hairbows

 

I finally pulled all my ribbon out of the boxes I had them in and hung them up like I've seen on Pinterest. :-) So of course that sends Miss Crafty Shelby into overdrive and we ended up spending hours making hairbows and pony streamers with her friend Jayden. We all know Shelby can never have enough hairbows and pony streamers!

Loomer Shirts

OMG I am soooo excited! My friend Ariell is making shirts for all the guests at Shelby's rainbow loom slumber birthday party in 2 weeks and they are turning out sooooo cute!

Exxxxhausted!

Poor Shelby is exhausted! After a slumber party and only getting 4 hours of sleep, then 2 hours of intense dance practice, then these fast paced drills at volleyball practice right afterwards..this girl is pooped!! Good thing tomorrow she has off from school and can veg out until volleyball practice again tomorrow night.

One Proud Mama

Yesterday was 1st Grade 9 weeks awards for Tucker. I'm so proud! And even better, he is proud!

 

 

Homework Sucks

 

This was last night doing homework at 9pm. Homework that should have been done hours before but because he fights doing homework so hard, what would have taken 5 minutes took most of the night. So when he started banging his head on the table I didn't give up and tell him to go to bed. Instead I gave him the helmet so he could still bang his head...safely. LOL

Proud Little Artist

Look who is a Rodeo Art FINALIST!!!!! I cannot even begin to tell y'all how excited this made her. Shelby was waiting on pins and needles for weeks to find out if she made the cut and she did!! I had to cover her mouth when she screamed in the administration building! I'm so very proud of her!

 

 

Smarty Pants

It's report card time! You all know my kids are polar opposites and their report cards show it. Shelby is on an 8th grade reading level and excelling in those area. And then Holy Smokes Tucker. The boy who cannot sit still even if his life depended on it and you think he's not listening or paying attention. It turns out he hears every single word.

NYE 2013

This year the kids and I hosted our annual NYE party. We had about 50 guests in attendance and had an amazing time with all of our friends! It was so much fun! We had a count down at 8pm for the kids and everyone was gone before midnight. I took photos and video from my phone since it was handy but the images and video are pretty dark but you get the chaos from it. My yard looks like a confetti bomb went off on it. LOL

See what I mean about all the legos? I brought Tucker to work with me one day last week and this is what my desk looked like all day.

Christmas 2013

Christmas 2013 has come and gone. It was a nice Christmas spent with my awesome family, but I am so glad it is over. With the change in family dynamics lately, it was hard for me, but the kids had a great time and didn't have any problems. To them, it was just more gifts.

For Christmas this year, Shelby wanted crafts and Tucker wanted all "battle" stuff. I have spent at least 15 hours on building legos since Christmas. My fingers actually hurt from it! Shelby's favorite gift I think was her new REAL sewing machine from Mimi and Poppy. She is a natural crafter!
