House of Blues

Tonight I took Shelby to the House of Blues for her all time favorite singer, Cher Lloyd. We also were able to see Midnight Red, Zendeya and Emblem3. I'm so glad we had seats in the balcony since she is still in strep throat recovery mode. She doesn't have a ton of energy right now. She was asleep before we got out of downtown Houston tonight.

Christmas Pageant

I have yet to download photos from the regular camera but found these on my phone this morning. This year for the church Christmas Pageant Shelby was a prophet. No more being an angel for her. Tucker was a shepherd and as usual wanted to quit at practice because he didn't want to practice. I know most parents would encourage their kids to participate but I clearly told Tucker to not sign up because we go through this every year and it's meltdown central. What did he do? He signed up when I wasn't looking. I'm just glad he stuck it out.

Tucker's Christmas Gifts to Friends

Not as creative as Shelby's but Christmas party favors are always a hit. Note to self, do not by glitter tags ever again. It does not come off the skin!!! Eeeeek!!

Urgent Care

Nothing like spending our Sunday at urgent care. My poor baby. I will need to bathe in Lysol after this.

Elf Impersonator

This past Thursday was the 4th grade musical. Shelby had quite a few lines and was an elf. I think she was a Dutch elf or something because the costumes were...umm...Dutch looking. LOL As usual it was a super cute performance. The always were decorated with art work from all the kids and this is a self drawing of Shelby singing. Hahahaha!

Tucker and the snow hill

Shelby and the snow hill

The kid city winter festival had a snow hill and the kids had been waiting for 2 months for this thing. I guess I was expecting a lot more but this is I guess what you get when you have to order snow off a truck. I told the kids when we go to Colorado for spring break it'll be 10000000x better since it'll be real snow and real hills.

Volleyball practice - Winter Season

Winter ball started for volleyball. Finally a sport Shelby loves! I'm certain it's because she has such a great coach. We got the same coach as Fall ball. Hopefully she doesn't break anything and have to sit out 1/2 the season like last season.

Sally the Elf

Sally our elf has returned for the season. Apparently the kids and her had a little chat about not being so boring this year. She's not near as wild as their friends elves but at least she has managed a little spark other than just sitting in the same few spots like last year.

Running from Girls

Running from girls and slamming into a brick wall gives you a major headache, split forehead and goose egg.

Christmas Card Photos 2013

I took the kids this weekend and attempted to take some photos of them for our Christmas card this year. For some reason these are showing up a little off compared to the originals, but you get the just of it. :-)

Lunch Date

Just finished Shelby's last volleyball game where she scored the winning point and served 6 points worth. She did great! So we are celebrating with lunch out at Jimmy Changas and next Shelby and I are heading to the Nutcracker Market at the GRB convention center.

Super Soccer Star Tucker!!

Tucker did FANTASTIC at Saturday's soccer game. I have learned that Tucker needs to be praised on the field AT ALL TIMES when he is on the field. There's no playing on a cell phone or talking to other parents. My eyes must be focused on him at all times. Last weekend I wasn't at the game since Shelby was sick and Tucker got booted from a quarter of the game for bad sportsmanship. That was NOT going to happen this time and it didn't. He was scoring goals and doing great assists. I was SO PROUD of him. And yes, EVERYONE knows his name and that I am his mother!!

This is him giving his coach a 5. This coach has A LOT of energy and swears Tucker was just like him as a kid. He pays no attention at practice but is a rockstar at games.

This picture is on of the balls going into the goal after one of his great kicks!

Neighborhood Kids

Lately it seems our house has been THE house to hang out at for the neighborhood kids. When I come home from work there are always kids over playing with Shelby. Tucker is at daycare so he has no idea all the fun that is going on at the house while he isn't there. Shhhhh! But some days he is there so he gets to join in on the fun. And weekends lately have been nerf battle headquarters it seems. I love that kids want to come over and play at our house. I love hearing the chatter of the things they say. Last week I heard 1 kid tell Shelby "your Mimi is so cool" and "your house smells so good". LOL (That would be thanks to Mimi!) And now that we have 30+ nerf guns, I am sorry to all my neigbors who are finding nerf darts in their yard!
