Festival of Lights 2012

For a community service badge, I took our girl scout troop to the Festival of Lights this year to learn about the history of the lights and sing Christmas carols and decorate Christmas cookies. We were definitely feeling the Christmas spirit with the cold temps!

Christmas Pageant 2012

Last Sunday was the annual Christmas pageant at church. This was the first year Tucker actually participated in it. He almost didn't. Once he saw the costume he said no way, he's not doing it. He was assigned the part as a King's helper. Then he wanted to change parts, but it was too late for that. So I had him sitting out in the congregation with me and 5 minutes before it started Lonnie convinced him to do it. So we ran over to get him in costume as they were all heading into the church to start. He did great! Shelby was an angel again.

Christmas Parade 2012

Last Thursday was the Dickinson Christmas parade. Our church had our annual float full of Christmas trees and elves on it. It's kind of weird being in a Christmas parade, when it's muggy and 80 + degrees.

candyland camporee 2012

We spent the weekend at girl scout -candyland camporee. It was the
first overnight trip where I actually got some sleep and there was no
fighting amongst the girls. It was a lot of fun!

Sonic the Tucker... I mean hedgehog

This was going to be a Christmas present but someone couldn't contain himself when he saw the package come in the mail. I need to have Shelby check the mail these next few weeks or Tucker's not going to have much under the tree except Santa's gifts! LOL This is a Sonic hat. His latest obsession. He wore it the entire weekend for everything except the church Christmas pageant. Shelby was totally annoyed, which of course made it even funnier. (Notice the Dora dollhouse in the background? It belongs to Mario and Lego guys now. Dora got the boot.)

Reindeer Food

Friday night after making SWAPS, the kids and I made reindeer food to pass out to all their friends at their upcoming Christmas parties at school. Tucker mainly dumped the oatmeal on the ground so Shelby and I just finished the project without him. LOL

Teacher Christmas Gifts

Have I mentioned how much I love pinterest? Well I saw this super cute idea and thought, hey, I can do that! And I can do it cheap!! I kid you not, this whole gift cost me.... $2.50. I already had the tags and ribbon, and I got the pot holders, cookie mix and a pack of cookie cutters (6 to a pack). I bought enough to make 12 of these gifts, and when you do the math, it comes out to $2.50. CHA-CHING!!!

GS - Fishing Poles

Today we had a scheduled GS event to take the girls to Camp Casa Mare to make fishing poles, bait them, and then fish. Christine and I are both sick but we went because we had several girls needing to go to Camp Casa Mare to finish their "6th camp" patch. Well guess what??? Those that needed it, didn't come. Ugh! And of course we didn't know until last minute. If we had known, we would have rescheduled. Oh well. We took our 4 regulars out there and they still had a great time.
