Disney - day by day

Day 2 - Our first full day at Disney started off with a very early character meal at Chef Mickey's. After breakfast we rode the monorail over to Magic Kingdom. This year we were able to ride more rides then last time. We rode most the rides over in Tomorrowland. By noon the kids were crashing so Joy and I took them back to the house and Charlie and Lonnie went on a guided bass fishing trip. It ended up raining later in the day so we stayed in for the remainder of the day and ordered pizza and spaghetti for dinner.

Day 3 - Monday was Memorial Day. We had another character breakfast booked for the Tuskar House. Before breakfast we stopped and got our fast passes for the Kilimanjaro safari ride. Thank goodness for fast passes b/c the line for this ride was super long - 2 hour wait! Breakfast and the safari ride were cool (a little chaotic/stressful at breakfast) and after that the park was packed. So packed you could hardly move. The kids were crabby so we decided to head back to the house and Joy and Charlie went on to see Festival of the Lion King and It's Tough to be a Bug. We really wanted to do more but the kids were in some rough moods and it just wasn't worth it. So we headed back to the house and let the kids nap. That evening we went to a McDonalds that I saw on the travel channel. Ranked #2 in Travel Channel's Most Unique McDonald's as The Best McDonald's to Play In! WHY on earth, I have no idea. It was gross. It was dirty. Ick!!!!!!

Day 4 – Tuesday we headed back to Magic Kingdom for more rides. Shelby’s favorite ride was Splash Mountain and Tucker’s favorite ride was Goofy’s Barnstormer. After a few hours the crabbiness kicked in and Shelby was upset that Tucker was getting way too much attention. So we split them up. The boys went their way, which was out of the part, and us girls went and continued with the rides until about 4pm. That evening we went to Landry’s for dinner (which was fantastic) and then turned in early.

Day 5 – Wednesday we went to Hollywood Studios (aka MGM) where we had a character meal scheduled for Hollywood and Vine with a few characters from Little Einsteins and JoJo’s Circus. That was a lot of fun and continues to be my favorite of the character meals because of all the dancing and singing and interacting they do with the kids. After that we headed to visit McQueen and Mater from Cars, rode the Tower of Terror (Joy clung to Lonnie, Lonnie laughed, and I screamed…the entire time), did a few shows and got a lot more autographs. We finished up fairly early and then headed back to the house for naps. That evening Lonnie and I left the kids with Joy and Charlie and we headed to the movies to see Star Trek (which was fantastic!).

Day 6 – Thursday we went to Epcot. We didn’t get the whole park done. It rained most of the day there. We did the Nemo ride and they had a lot of neat exhibits. They had this section called Innoventions where Shelby was able to create a very cool game with herself in it. Check it out: http://www.thinkingofyoupostcards.com/runtime/play/?Guestcode=KQCQKF9RPHPX6Q
After Epcot we relaxed and swam in the afternoon and then headed to Downtown Disney for Shelby’s Pop Star makeover at the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. Although Shelby looks a little grumpy in the photos, she loved it and had a great time getting attention afterwards. We went to dinner at the new T-Rex restaurant which was pretty cool and then hung out for a while on one of the DD patios while the kids danced and ran round until it started to pour down rain….again.

Day 7 – Friday was a fun fun day. We decided to take the kids to Typhoon Lagoon. They absolutely loved this park. It rained off and on while we were there but it didn’t matter b/c we were already wet. In the kid section they had their own water slides and tube ride. I think they rode that tube ride about 50+ times. Lonnie and I were burnt to a crisp, although his just turned to a deep dark tan and mine turned into freckles. Sorry, there’s no pics from this day.

Friday night Lonnie took Shelby back to Magic Kingdom for more autographs, face painting, and rides. I stayed back with Tucker while he slept and started to pack.

Day 8 – Our final day at Disney….ahhh….we were all soooooo tired. We loaded up the cars and headed back to Magic Kingdom for our final farewell. We had a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and the gang, rode a few more rides, got a few more autographs, did some souvenir shopping, and then headed to the airport.

Photo Pass

Disney does this thing called photo pass. They hand you this credit card looking thing and then you give it to the photographers that are all over and they take your photo and swipe the card so they are all in the same account. Then if you want the photo you can buy it, but the prices are ridiculous! Like $15+ for 1 photo! Anyway, we have 2 different cards and here are the photos from one of the cards. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photoshareviewer.aspx?share=832ae2e0-4574-4e3a-a582-efa80c0eaf4f

Update: Apparently the link isn't working. I'll figure it out and repost once I do.

Disney Day 1 - 5/23/09

I'm going to break down our vacation day by day. I don't have a whole lot to report for Day 1. Tucker and Shelby were awesome on the plane. Tucker fell asleep within 5 minutes of take off so it was an easy flight. After we got our luggage and rental car we headed to the house. Here's the link in case anyone is interested. http://www.storytimeorlandorental.com/ We stayed in story time 2. I highly recommend this place. You just can't beat the price for what you get. We were about 5 miles away from all the parks. We had our own pool on the patio. It was great! By the time we got settled in at the house it was pouring down rain, so we went out to dinner and that was about it.

Here's a photo of Tucker passed out on the plane.

Sneak Peek

I've got about 600 photos to edit and narrow down before sharing so here are a few photos until I get it done.

This photo below is of Lonnie coming out with Tucker behind locked gates at the Magic Kingdom. Tucker squeezed through and ran up the stairs. LOL

This is Shelby getting her groove on out at Downtown Disney after her Hannah Montana makeover at the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique.
This is what happens after too much Disney World.

Just got our fast passes!

Wednesday

Last night we didn't go back to MK. We went to landry's for dinner for "real food and wine" as Joy called it. LOL Remarkably the kids were awesome and in great moods even though they were tired. Shelby said she wanted to go to bed instead of going back to MK.
This morning we are going to Hollywood Studios for a character meal with the little einsteins and jojo's circus characters. Then it's off to see mcqueen and mater. I'm sure tucker will want to stay at those cars ALLLLL day.

Princesses

We just got done waiting in line for an hour for princess' autographs. It was totally worth it!!! There were 3 princesses, belle, cinderella, and sleeping beauty. We got to go in alone with just the princesses and photographers. It was awesome and not rushed at all.

Alladin

Shelby and I are in line for alladins magic flying carpet. Nanny (MIL) is with us. Lonnie, tucker and charlie (SFIL) left to go do something in orlando. Some hunt shop. Took tucker so he could nap. Shelby is MUCH happier being without tucker with us. It means she gets all the attention. She LOVE LOVE LOVED splash mountain. We got soaked. I have a great video for later. We got fast passes for that, thank God! The regular line was 2 hours long. So we got fast passes to go again later at 5pm. Today is packed crazy like yesterday!

Tuesday

Last night we went to the biggest mcdonalds in the US that they show on the travel channel. I'll post the link when I get back. It's suppose to be like a bistro. Don't waste your time going if you were ever thinking about going. It was gross. It was old, dirty, and well, let's just leave it at that.
Today we are going back to MK to ride more rides that we didn't get to on Sunday. No character meals scheduled today. I'm hoping now that the holiday weekend is over it'll be a little less crowded today. Yesterday was crazy crowded. You could hardly move.

Nap time

We are now back at the house for naps. Disney is 2 miles away so its nothing to leave and go back. Tusker house was great. They did some african dancing and let the kids play some instruments and got to meet donald, daisy, mickey and goofy. (Better than chef mickeys, but CM food was better.) Shelby is into autographs this year so she was happy to get those from them. Then we went to the kilajanro (sp?) safari ride. Thank God for fastpasses! The line was 2 hours long. We got fast passes before breakfast (good thinking Nanny!) so we got to practically walk right on after breakfast. It is PACKED today!!! Guess b/c of the holiday. We may do epcot later today after everyone is refrshed and if its not raining.
