Cookie Time!

We are in the midst of girl scout cookie galore. We had the troop get together to divide up cookie orders a few saturdays back. Now we are working the booths at the local grocery stores.

Fine Arts Funanza Rockets Performance

Sunday Shelby performed at the Rockets game preshow with her funanza group. One of the instructors put this video together with snap shots and then in the middle of it you will see the performance. Shelby danced her tail off and gave it her all. I was so proud of her! You can see all the excitement in the kids with the video. They didn't let us parents go with them. We had to watch from our seats. So I was so happy to get this video to see what Shelby was able to experience!!

Shelby - Acolyte

Shelby acolyted for the first time Sunday (Feb 5, 2012). She was so proud! I was so proud!!

I can't take flash photos during the service, so this was the best live action shot I could do, without running up to the front and embarassing her. ;-)

scavenger hunt

So at Shelby's party we split the girls up into 2 teams and raced around the neighborhood to find 10 different items. First team back to the house won. One of the rules was that at least one girl had to be in each photo. The girls took photos from cell phones so the photos are not the best, but you can see how much they loved this game! Courtney's team apparently was too wild b/c a neighbor came out and threatend to call the police on them. LOL

Shelby's 8th Birthday Party

3 days post party and I am still exhausted. Shelby had 10 girls come over Friday night for her slumber party. We had an absolute blast. HUGE THANKS to my friend Courtney who was there to keep me same and keep the party pump'in the whole time. We started off the with pizza and then made bottle cap necklaces, then went on a scavenger hunt, then made duct tape bracelets at "JC duct tape saloon", then played spin the nail polish bottle, then did cake and opened gifts, then played Superstar, then went outside and had silly string wars, and somewhere in between all that the girls played just dance on the wii and acted like crazy 8 year olds. Around midnight I put on the movie frenemies and told them to start to chill out and go to sleep. Yeah, right. By 1 am, 4 girls were asleep. The other 7 were upstairs in Shelby's room jumping off the furniture which sounded like a herd of elephants over my head since her room is above mine. So around 4:30am, that's b/c at that point I was desperate for an hour of sleep, I crawled in Shelby's bed with all those girls in her room  so they chilled out. I had 2 specific girls her were craaazzzzyy that once they fell asleep, I was fine if the others were awake, b/c they could follow direction. So I went back to my own bed and I think those other girls fell asleep soon after that. Then to wake up at 6am when one of the girls who went to sleep around 1am woke up.

The party was super fun and I know they all had a great time. It took all weekend to recover and here it is monday morning and I'm still tired. LOL
