For the first time ever Tucker sat down and played the vsmile game system this weekend. Looks like he'll be taking this over from Shelby soon.

1st day of Kindergarten - Shelby
Here are some snap shots from Shelby's 1st day of school. I'm still having computer issues at home so I'm not able to edit out the red eye or the blurry photos. Sorry. But here are a few that I took.

Meet the Teacher Night - Tucker
Man, this is a crummy photo! It didn't look so crummy on my phone. Anyway, last night was meet the teacher night for Tucker. Tucker acts like he runs that school. LOL He was running all over the place and saying hi to everyone that he remembered. He saw Kennedy and that just made his day! Being this is our 4th year here, we feel like pros. LOL We went to Tucker's new classroom and his teacher is Mrs. Leah. Mrs. Leah was Shelby's teacher 2 years ago. Mrs. Leah has known Tucker since Tucker was born so she knows his personality. LOL We were excited to find out that Kennedy and Kiki will be in his class again. She will have her hands full b/c she's got 8 2-3 y/o's to handle! So the school year will begin Tuesday for Tucker. YAY!!! He's been enjoying all his time with having Mimi to himself this week since Shelby's been in school. What's nice is in the evening the 2 have actually missed each other and are playing well together instead of fighting!! I love when school is in session! LOL

Kindergarten Update
Sorry for not posting an update sooner. So many of you have emailed me for updates. Thanks for checking in on my princess! I have photos to upload at some point but my regular laptop is having internet issues so I can't upload the photos to the blog. I'm on Shelby's laptop and she doesn't have a place to put a SD card.
Day 1 - We took Shelby to her class and dropped her off. No tears were shed from either of us. She looked very nervous and scared but she put on a good tough guy front. At pick up time Mom and I sat in the mommy line for 30 minutes but as soon as school was out, we were through the line in 10 minutes. Shelby was so excited to see us! The teachers were very organized at pick up time and they loaded Shelby into the car quickly and off we went. She told us she made 3 new friends and her favorite subject is music because she earns tickets to buy prizes. LOL
Day 2 - We've started a new routine and instead of me taking the kids to mom's in the morning, she is now coming to our house. This allows the kids 1 extra hour of sleep and the school is right across the street. On morning 2, Shelby did not want to get out of bed and hit snooze on her alarm clock. She wanted to sleep and not go to school, but she soon got out of her funk. So mom took Shelby to school and picked her up and it all went smoothly. Shelby found 5 of her friends from her previous school at lunch and on the playground so she was super excited. She had a great time.
Day 3 - Got a call from the school nurse at 1:30 pm. Shelby and another boy collided into each other and Shelby ended up with a bloody nose. She was traumatized over getting blood on her shirt. They tried to give her a school spirit shirt to wear but she wasn't having it. It was not "her" shirt and it wasn't ironed and didn't match her hairbow. LOL I spoke to her and she was crying and was hysterical over the blood. So I spoke to the nurse and decided that it was already the end of the school day and sent my mom to pick her up. She's fine. No broken or fractured nose. She said other than the bloody nose she had a fun day.
So there's our update. I hope to get photos and a video updated this weekend.

Shelby's first day of Kindergarten
We dropped Shelby off for her first day of kindergarten. I have more photos to download later but this one here is from my phone. She was nervous, but she did just fine. She's such a big girl now!

Sunday evening at my parents house
This evening we went to my parent's house for burgers and swimming. My aunt and uncle from Conroe were in town, another aunt and cousin, and then Lee, Theresa and Madeleine came too. Here are some snap shots I took. Madeleine is growing up so fast. She's so spunky and pretty! Tucker shared his cars with her and introduced her to Wow Wow Wubbzy. He even shared his beloved chair with her.

Beach
I took the kids to the beach this afternoon after the crowds died down. We haven't been to the beach (except Palm Beach @ Moody Gardens) since Hurricane Ike last September. I am so glad my kids got Lonnie's tanning gene. I realized once we got to the beach that my spray can of sunblock was empty. We weren't going to be too long since it was late in the day. So they just added to their beautiful tan and I am sunburned. That's ok. We had a lot of fun. We called it quits once Tucker removed his bathing suit and went streaking into the water. He got out pretty quick once I told him a fish would get his pickle. LOL

Heart Below
I've told a few people the heart and they all said I needed to blog about this. (I think out of pure embarrassment for myself.) Shelby colored and cut out 2 hearts. 1 for me and 1 for Lonnie. She gave Lonnie his and told him to hang it in his office and to think of me. Then she gave the other one to me. I asked what the E was for. She said E stands for Edward. As in Edward from Twilight because she knows how much I love Edward! Not sure if this is funny or pathetically sad on my part. Lonnie seems to think it's hilarious!

Shelby's teacher
Tonight we met Shelby's kindergarten teacher who seems very sweet. Shelby was nervous, but she's very excited. She has her own little desk with her name on it. Found out all the stuff we needed to get through the first 2 weeks. Like they have to wear certain colors on certain days, I have to bring 22 individually wrapped snacks every month, and which days they have PE, music, art, etc. We checked out the library, computer lab and cafeteria. I read Shelby what was on the menu and she's decided she definitely wants me to pack her lunch. LOL

slip and slide videos
Here are some videos of Lonnie tossing Tucker down the slip and slide at Kate's party on Saturday. He LOVED it!!
(I've finally figured out with my phone when I take video that I should turn it sideways. When I have it up and down I get the black bars on the side of the video and it's skinnier.)
Another birthday party
Today we went to another birthday party. This time it was for one of Lonnie's cousins and it was at Chuck E Cheese. I forgot my camera so I had to make due with my camera phone. All of them came out blurry b/c the kids were moving, so these were the only 3 that turned out.

The other little girl with Shelby is Lainey and she's a cousin. Her and Shelby are about a year apart, Lainey being older.

ventriloquist
My mom is under the weather today so I took off from work to stay home with the kids. Mom had tickets to go see a ventriloquist down at Moody Gardens with the kids, so I went in her place instead. It was a pretty cute show. More adult humor then child humor which was odd since it was a kid's show. But the kids had fun and that's all that matters.

Shirts for Tucker
While in the midst of looking for some short sleeve shirts for Tucker I came across the Paul Frank - Small Paul collection. I couldn't resist getting this shirt.... (Erica - I think they have these in boys/girls onesies with the fire helmet.)
But, I did resist getting this one. But now I'm thinking I should have ordered it. It's just probably not appropriate to send him to school in a shirt where they are laughing at the kid shoved in a locker. It is a private church school. LOL
Yeah, when he gets into big kid school and other kids want to make fun of his name (which my brother is certain of this) then it'll be MY kid shoving the kids in the locker. Not that I want him to be that way, but we can already tell he'll probably be that kid.
Update - I ordered it anyway. :-)

Random Photos
Not a whole lot going on these last few days. Summer is coming to an end in 2 weeks. I am ready for the kids to get back in school but I can't believe Shelby's going into kindergarten! WOW!!!
Here are a few random pictures of the lazy weekend we had this past weekend.
