Girl Scouts Spring Camporee May 2012
Another camporee survived!! It started out crazy humid but by lunch time that finally started to die down. The girls had a blast and we only had minimal injuries! A success!! The girls played relay games, learned to tie knots, went on a scavenger hunt, made new friends, did SWAPS, learned to build a campfire and all sorts of other stuff.

Mother's Day Weekend 2012
Saturday I was suppose to go to an outdoor training from 8am-10pm for scouts. It was to be certified to do Lord knows what with camping. Pitching a tent, digging a potty hole, cooking over a fire, etc. This was part 3 of the training, with part 1 a home study course and part 2 was a weeknight course. I had to do so much prep work for this. Friday evening it started to rain, and rain and rain. It never stopped. As I was pulling into the campsite, the park ranger had called my cell to tell me training was cancelled, the campgrounds were being evacuated due to flooding. A good leader would probably be worried about all those scouts having to evacuate. Not me. Guess I'm terrible. All I could think was Praise God I don't have to do this training in the rain AND I can go back to bed!!!!! I've been so exhausted from this course, plus strawberry festival, and also camporee coming up. All while still trying to be a good employee, wife and mom. LOL Thankfully my mom is my hero, and she still kept the kids until the afternoon so I went back to bed until nearly noon. YAY!
Sunday I woke up to the cutest cards and homemade gifts (my favorite). Lonnie had to work and I had to teach Sunday school, so off we went. After church, the kids and I went to lunch with my parents. I got a super nap in again that day (naps are rare, so I was loving all the naps this weekend!). Lonnie surprised me by getting home early and bringing home my favorite dinner and these super cute picture frames (not pictured) where the kids recordered messages to me. I'll be taking those to work with me. :-)
So even though it was suppose to be a hectic crazy weekend, it turned out to be one of the most relaxing weekends I've had in a long time! I love my family!

Tucker Soccer
Well soccer season was suppose to be over with this past Saturday, but due to flooded fields, the game was cancelled. Not sure if we will have a make up or not. But Tucker did so well this season and was a super star goal kicker!!

KitKat
Meet KitKat. The newest edition to the Blevins' family. Lonnie brought her home Friday. She's 5 weeks old and is the cutest kitten. She's a tuxedo cat just like Baxter. Baxter and Archie have adjusted fine to her, but Sagwa is NOT happy. He's no longer the baby cat in the house. He growls at us, not just the new kitten. Uh-oh!!

Strawberry Festival 2012
This year I took over being chairman of the games for the Strawberry Festival. That meant this year we were going to be getting all new games. Yay! I knew that this was going to be a huge job, so I started researching ideas back in December. Then in March I started putting my ideas to paper, and then last month I started building them out. The games aren't like games you see at the carnival. I mean, c'mon. It's a small church festival. The games have been the exact same games since I was a kid. So thanks to my new friend Pinterest, we will have 10 new games, a train, a dunk booth, and 2 moonwalks. YAY!!!
