Tucker's 2 Favorite Words

Tucker: Mommy, Henry (from thomas the train) said stupid.
Me: Oh, that's not a nice word.
Tucker: I don't say stupid because stupid is a bad word. Stupid is a bad word and I shouldn't say stupid so I'm not going to say stupid, but Henry will say stupid on this show. But not me mommy. Stupid is a bad word so I'm not going to say stupid.
Me: Ok, but you keep saying it.
Tucker: Saying what?
Me: Stupid.
Tucker: I don't say stupid. Henry said stupid and you said stupid. I don't say stupid b/c stupid is a bad word so I don't say stupid. You shouldn't say stupid mommy.
Me: Uhhh, ok.

Tucker: I farted (a current obsession).
Me: Don't say that word Tucker. Mimi doesn't like that word. Use a different word like tooted.
Tucker: Mimi doesn't like the word fart? I won't say fart. I will say tooted instead of fart. Oh I farted. I mean I farted. I mean farted. Nooooo, I mean tooted (as he laughs hysterically).
Me: (thinking to myself, do not laugh b/c he'll keep saying it)
Tucker: Ohhhh, I think archie (the dog) farted. I mean farted. I mean tooted. Chuggington (train) farted. But he didn't say fart b/c he can't talk. So he didn't say fart. I said fart for him.

Soccer Games

Saturday we had 2 soccer games in 2 different locations. First game was Tucker's. It was at the YMCA that has a playground. Lesson learned - go to games early at this location and let Tucker play on the playground before the game to get it out of his system. Tucker was in typical 3 y/o format. I'm so ready for the age of 4 and praying that it gets better. LOL Besides Tucker refusing to play because his leg hurt, he was itchy, he was tired, he had to go potty every 5 seconds, he also spazzed and screamed and ended up having his trains taken away for the rest of the day. I swear this was more punishment for me than him. Why did I do that???? Eventually with other parents cheering Tucker on to get out on the field, he eventually did. I'm hoping that at this week's game, he will remember his punishment for acting like a crazy terror and will be in better spirits. This is a team sport, and he needs to help his team out. Even if that's just running on the field looking like his cutie pie self.

Next was Shelby's game. LOVE her coaches this season. They are super sweet and they love working with the kids. And they are all about team spirit. And the team mom is so well organized. Love it!
I had to show this picture of Shelby hustling it!

Homecoming

Last Friday my mom and I took the kids to the homecoming game. Here I am living in my home town (which I swore I would never do when I was younger, but now I'm old and wise and love it!) and loving the home town feeling of the small community. There's so much school spirit! Love it!! The school district built a new football stadium so these youngen's aren't playing in the same old rickity stadium that I grew up in, or my brother.....or my parents! (gasp!) It was absolutely beautiful! Parking...was not so beautiful.

So if you don't know this (hello, friday night lights!) Texas is a HUGE high school football state. Our school district moved up to class 5A which means we are now one of the biggest schools in the state. It amazes me because really this is a small town.

Back in my old days, the football players rushed through paper banners hanging from the field goals that we made during school that week. Now they have huge inflatable team mascots to run through. Fannnncy!

And then of course there is the band. If you don't know this either, Texas Marching Bands is a HUGE deal, especially coming from this school who has won the state marching championship too many times to count (including all 4 years I was there!). So here's the band coming out. Sorry no football or cheerleader photos. I'm a band nerd. Wait, what's that????

DANCERS?????? We have dancers????? When did THAT happen?? And holy cow this would have NEVER happend back when Don Owens was around. But the band is just as fantastic and sounded great and have a very tough looking routine, and to my amazement, the dancers fit in well.

Okay, but wait. What the heck??? is that kid marching in shorts and vans??? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I saw the cheerleader out there and the football player, but I didn't see this until uploading my pics!

Anyway, it was a good night. Can't say it was super fun, although our intentions were. It was soooooooo humid and Shelby is about as whiney in humidity as I am. Not cool. Tucker was LOVING dancing, cheering, and chanting the fight song...in the stair aisles. He loved all the people with painted blue and white faces. I do want to go back when it cools down. I think they would really love it then. And by the way, we won the homecoming game. Yeee-hawww!

Quote from Shelby

Mommy: How did you do on your spelling test today honey?

Shelby: I did great! I wrote the words on my desk and when I was done with my test I erased them.

Oh. My. Goodness. hahahahahaha

Halloween Costume

Tucker's Halloween costume arrived this week. It's a tad big but not too big. Can you figure out who he is?

Music Time

At the preschool daycare that Tucker goes to, they have additional extracurricular activities we can enroll him in. This week we enrolled him in monkeynastics and music time. The lady who does the music class sent me an email last night with this photo saying how much Tucker loved the class and thanked me for enrolling him. I thought that was soooooooooo sweet of her. I don't even know who she is!

Soccer in the Rain

Next came Shelby's soccer game....in the pouring down rain. It sucked. A girl can never have a good hair day when playing soccer in the rain. And mommy just can't get many camera shots in the rain. Hopefully this weekend I'll get better pics.

1st Soccer Game of the Season

It's soccer time again and this time Tucker is playing. Shelby and Tucker are on different teams, but somehow managed to get the same team jersey name. YMCA changed up their team shirts and now instead of saying YMCA, it says a city. They both got Salt Lake City. Thank goodness for them getting the same team name so I don't have to hear them fight over who's color of jersey is better!

Tucker has been doing great at practice so we were pumped about Saturday's game. First he ran off the field a few times and said he needed hugs. And then he just didn't want to play anymore b/c he wasn't getting the ball. So after being a typical 3 y/o and after sweet pep talks from Mimi, he finally got back in there and finished out the game.

Here's Tucker flirting with some girl from another team and his team mate trying to steal his thunder! Hahahahaha....

And then this one.... Oh Tucker, that's just not cool to be smirking when the girl has fallen to the ground.

Chickfila

Tonight is spirit night (or something like that) at chickfila. All the proceeds earned between 5-8pm goes to Shelby's school. I dreaded coming here thinking it would be off the wall packed but hardly anyone is here.

Poor cow had to go in hiding a few times. Between Tucker chasing her, begging her too moo, asking if she had a pickle or boobies....ugh! I think she is done. LOL It doesn't help that everyone keeps laughing b/c that makes him keep doing it.

Weekend

I took my expedition to get detailed on Friday. Weather man said 10% chance of rain all weekend. Um, yeah. About 2 hours after having it washed, this rolled in and never left. It was still here last night.

Chuggington

Here's Tucker singing the chuggington theme song. His newest obsession.

Rally Day

Sunday was Rally Day at church. I was sooooooooo sore and tired that morning after the concert and I was having to set up waterslides. I didn't know how I would pull it off without crying in pain, but I did. LOL It was a huge success with so many people and lots of kids. Shelby and Tucker said it was the best rally day ever, although Tucker has never been to one. LOL I'm looking forward to the new year. Our attendance has grown over the past year since I've been teaching and I'm looking forward to the new fun things that we'll be doing. I wish I could get Tucker to stay in Sunday school but he's still in the nursery b/c the lady in there bought him a train set when he was 2 to keep only in there and he loves her...well the train...dearly.

Halloween Costume

Shelby has decided that she wants to be a witch for Halloween. She wants to make her own costume. She has her own ideas of what she wants to look like. First is that she wants a tutu skirt to wear over a black leotard. She wanted the skirt to have purple, green, orange and black. So we went to Hobby Lobby and picked out the stuff to make a tutu and on Friday night we made her tutu. My only regret is that we did it in my room so we could sit on the comfortable bed, and now I have glitter all over. Yeah, Lonnie's real pleased with that. LOL
Shelby cut the fabric, Tucker counted out the number of strands for me, and then I tied them on the waist band. Shelby was thrilled with how it turned out. Next we have to work on the leotard which she has ideas of bedazzling, and then the witch hat and broom. But we have a few more weeks until halloween to get that done. :-)
