For Tucker's birthday party we hosted a Nerf Wars event at our church. The plan was to have everything outside and play on the back lawn with the pavilion and playground. But it rained. And rained. And rained. So instead, we moved the party into the parish hall and eventually with a lot of help from my dad, the pavilion was dried off enough to play on it. We had corndogs, bagel bites, and nuggets along with camo cupcakes and an ice cream bar. We played capture the flag, tug of war, sniper shoot, and made paper airplanes. It was a fun..and tiring...day! Happy Birthday Tucker!!! (THANK YOU Mimi and Poppy and Dorothy for all of your help!!)

Happy 7th Birthday Tucker!!
Happy 7th Birthday Tucker!!! You are my little firecracker full of spunk and energy. You march to your own drum and are full of comical relief. You love waffles, and nerf guns, and are obsessed with minecraft and zombies. You make straight A's, yet get in trouble daily at school for talking non stop. You are the polar opposite of your sister Shelby, except you both share the same sweetness. :-)

minion hat
This past weekend I worked on Shelby's minion hat for her halloween costume. I made her minion hat but now I'm realizing I forgot to add a smile. I'll need to do that tonight in order for it to dry in time. I used puffy paints and it's still wet 2 days later! EEK!!! We need it to dry by Thursday for our girl scout halloween party. Plus I need time to add some black yarn "hair" to the top. Anyway, I'm quite impressed with my makings!

Craft Sale - Donation
This past weekend was our neighborhood wide garage sale and Shelby had a craft booth set up to sell her rainbow loom bracelets with her friends. The girls decided that with their earnings, they were going to donate their money to the Helen Hall Library. Once the garage sale was over, the girls piled into Exploradora and we went to Helen Hall Library to donate the money. The children's librarian was so excited that she made a big production out of it and took the girls photo and made a huge announcement. She then told the girls she planned to write up an article on it and put in the library newspaper with their photo. The girls were on cloud 9 for the rest of the day.

Getting ready for Halloween and Nerf Wars Party
Every single day Tucker changes his mind on what he wants to be for halloween. Yesterday when I was picking up even more guns from the goodwill (22 total nerf guns now!) I stopped by Party City and found this GI Joe costume and thought he would love it for his party. His 2 favorite parts of the costume are 1 - the beard and 2 - the gps that goes on his arm.

Shelby's business card
Shelby and her friend Caylee have become super serious with their crafting business. So much so, that for 2 months she begged for business cards and I finally gave in. Feel free to check out their youtube videos. Yes, their heads are cut off. That's on purpose. LOL This weekend is our neighborhood wide garage sale and Shelby and Caylee will have a craft booth set up to sell all their crafts.

Broken Foot
I win the award for mother of year! Shelby came home from
dance last week complaining of her foot hurting. She could still walk and run and
dance on it so I didn't worry too much. She played in her volleyball game
Saturday and even went to practice last night. She's been active and it hasn't
really slowed her down. At night I would ice and elevate her foot. Well last
night she cried in her sleep most of the night and this morning I saw this knob
like bump on the top of her foot. Nothing was bruised but she said it hurt to
touch. So I took her to the ER and they confirmed that she has what's called a
dancer's break. She has fractured and broken bones on the top of her left foot.
They put on a soft cast and gave her a lesson in crutches. I took her to school
and realized there was NO WAY the girl would make it on crutches the entire
day. So I got a wheelchair and wheeled her to class. Tomorrow she sees an
orthopedic surgeon to figure out the next step. Hopefully a hard cast will be
all that she needs. So she's now out of dance and volleyball for the season,
but will continue to go to practice and games to cheer her team on. Dance is
mandatory since they are learning their choreography for spring competition.
