R5 concert

Last Friday night R5 came to the House of Blues. Any clue who R5 is? Yeah, I didn't think so. LOL R5 is a family band. Think the Partridge Family. In R5 is Ross Lynch. Ross Lynch is Austin from the Disney show Austin and Alley. Shelby loves Ross Lynch. So Friday night, Lynae and I took Shelby and Rachel to see the band. The opening performance was by some girl who was in the movie Lemonade Mouth. OMG it was terrrrrrrrible. Worst. Performance. Ever. It was so bad that I drank beer. And y'all know I am not a beer drinker. It was needed. Desperately. Fortuantely R5 was much better. The girls had fun and that's all that matters.

San Antonio - Memorial Day Weekend 2013

We went to San Antonio this past weekend for a little R&R. We bought season passes this year to Sea World and Six Flags so the plan is to go at least once a month this summer and then a few times during the school year. We had a great time, except Fiesta Texas was insanely crowded due to the holiday weekend and it rained, so everything shut down. Sea World wasn't nearly as crowded and they've added so much since the last time we were there. We also went to Ripley's Believe it or Not. We attempted the haunted house. By room 2 we had to take the back exit and leave. My kids who thought they were tough stuff, weren't so tough. LOL

Book Parade

Yesterday was the book parade at school. Shelby already had her Cheshire cat costume from dance so that’s who she went as. Gotta get my money’s worth out of that costume fee I paid! LOL Tucker was back and forth about wanting to be in the parade and decided finally he just wanted to watch with his friends.

Shelby's field trip to NASA

Here are a few pics from Shelby's field trip NASA. When I was in 4th grade we went to NASA for a field trip but it was sooooooo different. We went to mission control, took a tram ride around the facilities, saw actual shuttles, and had people actual lecture to us. This was also the same year as the challenger explosion so it was a memorable
field trip. Well apparently 28 years later, they don't do that anymore. They have since built Space Center Houston and told us to go off on our own (sort of like a space museum) and to be back in 3 hours on the front lawn for lunch. No structure at all. Kinda sucked. The kids went to a magic show and played on the angry birds space climber after I forced them to actually check out the museum stuff first. LOL But the kids had fun. There were so many parents on this field trip that I had 5 girls assigned to me, but 4 of the moms met their kids out there 1/2 way through so I basically had to just watch my own kid.

Tucker's field trip to the Zoo

Last week I went on Tucker's field trip with him to the houston zoo. I was a chaperone to 2 other little girls. They wanted their picture taken at every single statue. Tucker didn't want to stop but the girls made him. They totally had that boy whipped!

Teddy Bear Tea Party - Girl Scouts

A few weeks ago our troop hosted a Teddy Bear Tea Party as part of the requirements for bridging from Brownies to Juniors. We had about 25 little Daisys come and the girls had a great time. It was so neat to see how far our almost Juniors have come since they were the age of the Daisys that attended.
